Registration is open for Lambeth Council’s garden waste collection service which is now weekly and runs from 1 April to 31 March each year. Garden waste is collected on the same day as your rubbish, food waste and recycling.
You can use the service to recycle:
- grass cuttings
- leaves and twigs
- weeds, shrubs, plants and flowers
- hedge trimmings
- branches up to 10cm diameter
- pet bedding from plant-eating animals
All of the garden waste collected in the borough is sent for treatment via In-vessel Composting (IVC) along with your food waste. The finished product is then used on farmland around London reducing the need for artificial fertilisers.
