News from Lambeth Council:
Lambeth has 60 fantastic parks and open spaces. Already, there are some wonderful examples of parks being run successfully by the community and the council working together. We want to build on this success. By working in partnership, we think we can make our green spaces better for everyone.
Due to cuts in central government funding, Lambeth has to find ways to save money. But at the same time, we want our parks to achieve more for the money we spend. We want them to help to make people healthier and happier, support our communities to be stronger and safer and encourage our local economy to grow. To do this, we need your ideas and input.
Our consultation is now open so join the conversation! We’ll be talking about how your parks are run, what ideas you might have about how we could work together and what influence you might want. But overall, we want to know what you think will benefit your local park and what improvements you would like to see in the future.
Later in the summer we will be holding a series of public events to give everyone the chance to have their say. Further details of these public events will be published on our website www.lambeth.gov.uk/cooperativeparks. The consultation closes on 18 October 2013.
