Save a Life – First Aid
The British Red Cross will be running a first aid course at The Weir Link. The session will focus on essential life saving skills which can be used on babies, infants and adults. You will also have an opportunity to practice newly acquired skills. A donation of £10 or whatever you can afford is requested for this course. Adult Basic Literacy Course
The basic literacy course is for families with children under 5 years old. The course starts on Wednesday, 16th January and will cover the following areas:
- Writing simple texts and filling out forms
- Basic grammar and punctuation
- Spelling and using a dictionary
- Increasing vocabulary
A limited free crèche is available.
If you are interested in attending the enrolment date for the course is Wednesday, 16 January 1-3pm.
Our sewing club meets every Friday at 10.00-12.00pm. If you are interested in developing you sewing skills using vintage sewing machines then why not come along to this friendly and supportive group. No previous experience is needed. The first term will cover the basics of sewing while making an apron. For more information call 020 8675 2481.
Free Adult ICT Course
The six week ICT course is aimed at families with children under 5. If you have little or no ICT skills, if English is not your first language or if you would like to improve your reading and writing skills this course may be for you.
Areas which will be covered include:
- Using a laptop
- Digital photography
- Desktop publishing
- Word processing
The course will also help you to support your child’s learning by making literacy resources to use with your child and help you to progress on to further courses, training or employment.
The enrolment date for the course is Thursday, 17th January between 0930 and 1230.
