Lambeth council are encouraging residents to get involved in January’s Zero Waste Challenge. The aim is to cut down your waste by as much as possible for one week by buying carefully, recycling, reusing and repairing whatever you can. You’ll create a big impact on waste and save some time, energy and money too.
If you win the challenge, you’ll receive £100 to be donated to a good cause of your choice. You could invest the money in your local community project, school, hospital or a charity that you really care about. It’s up to you!
Who can get involved?
Anyone can get involved: individuals, households, businesses, schools or community groups.
How to get involved
You can request a Challenge Pack at wrwa.gov.uk/zerowaste. This contains all the information you need to take the challenge and includes a a useful guide to achieving zero waste. It also contains a diary where you can record the amount you throw away the week before the challenge and the amount you throw away the following week when you’ve put all the tips and advice into action! You should see a considerable reduction in the amount you’ve had to throw away.
You can take the challenge anytime during January 2013 and all entries must be submitted by Monday 6th February 2013.
