Lambeth Living has taken on twelve local young residents giving them the chance to start a brand new career as apprentices within the housing organisation.
As part of Labour led Lambeth Council’s bid to get more local young people into work, Lambeth Living has signalled their commitment by offering young people the opportunity to gain vital training and qualifications to kick start their careers.
The apprentices will be trained to tackle a wide range of skills from office, IT, legal and housing tasks – equipping them to become top housing specialists, and they will gain a recognised qualification when they have successfully completed the training. The training will stretch over two years and will be delivered in partnership with Lambeth College.
Lambeth Living already have 18 apprentices on the books learning the skills needed to become the next generation of housing and repair specialists.
Lambeth Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Lib Peck said “This is great news for Lambeth’s young people as a large scale housing organisation like Lambeth Living offering apprenticeships to young people will provide a real boost our communities, who are currently being failed by this Tory led government. Labour in Lambeth wants to do all it can support our communities and having a new generation of highly skilled housing and repair specialists will only go on to be benefit Lambeth residents”.
