Ken has confirmed leading campaigner, Tom Watson MP will address the rally. Other speakers will include Val Shawcross AM, Tessa Jowell MP, Len McCluskey (Unite, General Secretary).

Ken Livingstone said “I’m inviting Londoners from all corners of the capital to join our campaign for fairer fares and come along to my Fare Deal rally on the 23rd November. Wherever I go in London from Barking to Barnet I meet people who are being squeezed by the rising cost of bus, train, tram and tube fares. Our Fare Deal rally will be a great opportunity for hundreds of Londoners who believe it’s time for a different approach to the Conservative Mayor’s year on year fare rises to come together and set out a fairer alternative.
Rather than fare increases I believe it is time to cut the cost of travel. I’ve set out a clearly costed plan which would replace the above inflation fare increases with a 5% fares cut.”
Ken’s Fare Rally is the latest in with a series of major campaign events and initiatives which are bringing together hundreds of thousands of Londoners. Last week hundreds of volunteers hit London’s public transport system talking to commuters about the campaign for fairer fares.
Over 100,000 Londoners were directly contacted by text and email about Ken’s ‘Fare Deal’ and thousands viewed a new youtube video on fares here.
